Terms of service

These are the rules for using AgoraScan: only check websites you're entitled to assess, treat reports as expert guidance rather than a guarantee or a compliance certificate, and remember free reports are public by link. You can cancel subscriptions online at any time, and if you're a consumer you have 14 days to change your mind, except for audits you've asked us to run straight away.

Last updated 5 November 2026

The key points

  • AgoraScan is run by Grid Design Agency Limited in England.
  • Free scans check one page. Full audits, Watch and the expert review are paid. Studio and Agency are business plans.
  • All our prices include VAT, including the Studio and Agency plans for businesses.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel online in your dashboard, and we'll remind you before annual renewals.
  • Consumers can cancel within 14 days. If you ask us to run an audit straight away, you can't cancel that audit once it has started.
  • Only scan websites you own or have a legitimate reason to assess, and don't use AgoraScan to harm anyone.
  • Reports are produced by software and AI. They can be wrong, they're not legal advice, and they don't certify that a site is accessible or compliant.
  • Free scan reports are public to anyone with the link.
  • Nothing in these terms takes away your legal rights as a consumer.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

AgoraScan (agorascan.ai) is a trading name of Grid Design Agency Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 14577642, registered office 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom, VAT number GB445881953. "We", "us" and "our" mean Grid Design Agency Limited.

Contact us at hello@agorascan.ai or by post at our registered office. We reply within one working day, Monday to Friday. If we need to contact you, we'll use the email address on your account or the one you gave us.

2. These terms

These terms apply when you use AgoraScan, whether or not you have an account. Please read them, with our privacy notice, cookies notice and acceptable use policy, which form part of them. If you use AgoraScan for a business (including as an agency, freelancer or platform), our Data Processing Addendum also applies when we process personal data for you.

"Consumer" means an individual using AgoraScan wholly or mainly for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession. Some sections apply differently to consumers and business customers, and say so. If you use AgoraScan for a business, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it.

We'll email you a copy of these terms (or a link to a downloadable copy) with your order confirmation.

3. Your account

  • You must be 18 or over to create an account or buy from us.
  • Give accurate details and keep them up to date, including your billing country, which decides the tax we charge.
  • Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account unless it was caused by our failure.
  • Team seats on Studio and Agency are for named individuals in your organisation; don't share a seat.
  • You can close your account at any time by using Settings > Delete my account, or by emailing hello@agorascan.ai. Closing your account deletes your reports as described in our privacy notice. Unused credits are lost when you close your account, unless you're cancelling within your 14-day cooling-off period.

4. What we provide

  • Free scan: one page on desktop and mobile, an overall score and six category scores, our measured checks, and your top 3 issues in full. The report is public to anyone with the link. We limit how many free scans you can run each day.
  • Full audit (1 credit): one website, up to 5 pages on desktop and mobile, every issue we find with screenshots and suggested fixes, a PDF, a private share link, and one free re-scan within 30 days.
  • Watch: a full audit when you join, then your 5 pages re-checked automatically about every month, with an email when something changes or gets worse.
  • Expert review: a specialist from Grid Design checks your audit, adds anything it missed and talks you through it on a 45-minute video call.
  • Studio and Agency (business plans): a monthly allowance of audit credits, white-label reports, team seats, the embeddable website scanner and, on Agency, reports on your own domain and the other features described on our pricing page.
  • API (business customers, when available): access on separate order terms.

Features marked "coming soon" are not part of what you buy until they're released. We describe each product on our pricing page and at checkout; that description forms part of your contract.

5. Credits

  • One credit runs one full audit of one website (up to 5 pages).
  • Credits you buy last 24 months from purchase. Credits included in a subscription are added each billing month and unused ones roll over for one further month, then expire.
  • Credits have no cash value, can't be transferred to another account, and aren't refunded once they expire, except as set out in sections 9 and 10.
  • If an audit fails because of a problem on our side, we return the credit.
  • If an audit can't complete because the website blocks us, is offline, needs a sign-in or is on our list of sites we don't scan, we return the credit.

6. Prices, tax and payment

Prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout before you pay, and they include VAT. The price you pay stays the same wherever you are: we work out the VAT due from your address at checkout (UK VAT for UK customers, and your own country's VAT if we must charge it), and your receipt shows it.

Studio, Agency and extra credits are sold to businesses, at the same VAT-inclusive prices. If you give us a valid VAT number from outside the UK, the reverse charge may apply: we don't charge VAT and you account for it yourself.

Stripe emails you a receipt for every payment, including renewals, and you can download all your VAT invoices any time from Dashboard > Audits & billing > Invoices and billing.

We take payment through Stripe. You authorise us to charge your payment method for each purchase and, for subscriptions, at the start of each billing period until you cancel. If a payment fails, we'll tell you and try again; if it still fails after 14 days, we may pause the paid features until it's paid.

Founding price: the first 200 full audits sold are £19 each instead of £29. The count comes from real paid orders, never resets and the offer has no deadline. Once 200 have been sold the price is £29. The price you're charged is the one shown at checkout, and refunds are worked out at the price you paid.

If we've made an obvious pricing error, we'll tell you and you can choose to go ahead at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

7. Subscriptions: renewal and cancellation

Watch, Studio and Agency are subscriptions, billed monthly or annually as you choose.

  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price then in force, until you cancel.
  • Before you subscribe, we show you the price, how often you'll be charged, that it renews automatically, and how to cancel.
  • Cancel any time online in Dashboard > Audits & billing > Manage billing, in a few clicks. You don't need to call or email us. You can also email hello@agorascan.ai.
  • When you cancel, your subscription stops renewing and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Outside the cooling-off periods below, we don't refund part-used periods.
  • We email you to confirm your cancellation, when it takes effect and any refund due.
  • We email you a reminder at least 7 days before each renewal, monthly or annual, with the date, the amount, and how to cancel.
  • We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email of a price increase. It applies from your next renewal after the notice, and you can cancel before then.
  • If you haven't used your subscription for a long time, we may email you to check you still want it.

Renewal cooling-off for consumers: if you're a consumer on an annual plan, or your free trial turns into a paid plan, you can cancel within 14 days after the renewal or the first payment and get a refund, less a proportionate amount for any service you used in that time.

[Drafting note: the UK subscription contract rules in the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 are expected to start on 1 January 2027. Update the reminder timings and wording in this section to match the final regulations.]

8. Your right to cancel if you're a consumer

If you're a consumer, you can cancel your purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day we confirm your order. For subscriptions, it applies to the first order (and to renewals as described in section 7).

Audits are digital content. When you buy audits or Watch, we ask you to confirm that you want each audit to start as soon as you run it, and that you understand you lose the right to cancel an audit once it has been delivered. Audits you haven't run yet stay cancellable for the full 14 days. Your other legal rights (section 11) still apply. Your order confirmation email repeats your choice.

Expert reviews are a service. If you ask us to arrange your call within the 14 days, you'll pay for any part of the service already provided if you cancel, and you lose the right to cancel once the call has taken place.

Watch: if you cancel within 14 days, we refund what you paid, less the value of the audit included when you joined if you asked us to run it straight away, and less a proportionate amount for the monitoring period used. We never deduct more than you paid.

Credits you haven't used: full refund if you cancel within 14 days.

How to cancel: use "Withdraw from contract" next to the order in Dashboard > Audits & billing > Cancel a purchase (agorascan.ai/dashboard/withdraw), email hello@agorascan.ai, or send us the model cancellation form below. You just need to tell us clearly before the 14 days end. We confirm by email straight away and refund you within 14 days, to the payment method you used, without any fee.

Model cancellation form: To Grid Design Agency Limited (AgoraScan), 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom, hello@agorascan.ai. I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the supply of the following digital content or service: [ ]. Ordered on: [ ]. Name: [ ]. Email address used for the account: [ ]. Date: [ ].

9. Refunds and our goodwill promise

Besides your legal rights, if an audit has gone wrong (for example, it audited the wrong pages or a large part of the report didn't work), tell us within 30 days and we'll either re-run it or refund the credit. This doesn't apply just because you disagree with the findings or score.

Refunds go back to the payment method you used. Refunded credits are removed from your account.

10. Business customers

If you're a business customer, sections 8 and 9 (except our goodwill promise) don't apply. Fees are non-refundable except where these terms say otherwise or we've materially failed to provide the service and haven't fixed it within 30 days of you telling us, in which case you can end the subscription and get a pro rata refund of prepaid fees for the unused period.

At the end of your contract, you can export your reports (PDFs) and any leads collected by your website scanner for [30 days] before we delete them. If you're in the EU, you can also ask us to help you move your data to another provider, free of charge, in line with the EU Data Act.

12. Scanning websites: what you're allowed to do

  • Only scan websites you own or run, websites you have permission to assess (for example, as the owner's agency), or websites you have another legitimate reason to review, such as comparing against a competitor for your own decisions.
  • Only submit public web addresses. Don't submit pages that need a sign-in, private links, or pages containing confidential or sensitive personal data.
  • Follow our acceptable use policy. In particular, don't use AgoraScan to attack, overload or probe websites, and don't publish reports to mislead people about someone else's website.

We may refuse to scan any website, including adult, gambling and public-sector sites, sites of our own clients, and sites whose owners have asked not to be scanned.

13. Reports: who can see them and who owns them

Free scan reports are public. Anyone with the link can view a free report, its screenshots and score, and anyone you send it to can share it. Free reports aren't listed in search engines. Account holders can [make a free report private or delete it]. Don't run a free scan if you don't want a shareable report to exist.

Full audits are private to your account and anyone you give the share link to. You're responsible for who you share links and PDFs with.

Removal requests: if you own a website that has been scanned and want a report removed, or don't want your site scanned, email hello@agorascan.ai with the link. We'll review it promptly and usually remove public free reports of your site and add your site to our do-not-scan list.

Ownership: we (or our licensors) own AgoraScan, our rules, scoring method, software, report designs and text we write. Subject to these terms and to paying what's due, we give you a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual licence to use, copy, share and adapt your reports, including the PDFs and white-label reports you send to your own clients. You can't resell AgoraScan itself or present our reports as a product you sell at scale without an Agency plan or API agreement.

Third-party content: screenshots and quotations in reports show other people's websites and remain owned by those websites' owners. They're included only to illustrate the findings. Don't reuse them outside the report.

Your content: you keep the rights to anything you give us (such as your branding). You give us permission to use it to provide the service.

Aggregated data: we may use scores and findings from all scans, combined and anonymised so that no website from a private audit and no person can be identified, to produce benchmarks in reports and published research such as our annual study of websites. We'll never name a website from a private audit in published research. Public free scans may be used in aggregated statistics in the same way.

Feedback: if you send us ideas or suggestions, we can use them without owing you anything.

14. AI and the limits of our reports

Reports combine automated measurements (for example, accessibility, speed and mobile checks) with a review written by AI models, guided by our published rules. Sections written by AI are labelled. AI can make mistakes, including describing something that isn't on the page or missing real problems.

  • Reports are expert-style guidance and opinion about a website's design and usability, not a statement of fact about a business.
  • They're not a guarantee of more enquiries, sales, rankings or any other result.
  • They're not legal advice and don't certify that a website meets any law or standard, including WCAG, the Equality Act 2010, the European Accessibility Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, privacy or consumer law. Automated checks can't find every accessibility problem; full conformance needs testing by people, including disabled users.
  • Check suggestions before acting on them, especially changes to legal text, prices, claims or code.

If you buy an expert review, a person checks the report, but the review is still professional opinion within the scope described in section 4.

15. Partner recommendations

Some reports suggest tools or services that could help fix an issue. Some of these are partners who pay us a commission if you buy through our link. They're always labelled, they never change your score or findings, and you're free to use any other tool. See our affiliate disclosure for details. Your contract for a partner's product is with that partner, not us.

16. The website scanner and white-label features (business customers)

  • If you embed our website scanner on your site, you're responsible for the people who use it: you're the controller of their personal data and we're your processor under our Data Processing Addendum.
  • You must link your privacy notice next to the scanner, explain what you'll do with people's details, and only send marketing where the law allows (for example, with consent where required).
  • Leads are delivered to you for your own business. Don't sell them or add them to lists for others.
  • White-label reports must not suggest that AgoraScan or Grid Design endorses your business, and you must not remove our labels showing which parts were written by AI.
  • You're responsible for what you tell your clients about the reports you send them.

17. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep AgoraScan available, but we don't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may suspend it for maintenance or emergencies, and we may limit free scans when demand is high.

We may improve or change AgoraScan, for example by updating our rules or scoring method. Scores can change between versions. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you've paid for, we'll tell you in advance and you can cancel and get a refund for any prepaid period you haven't used and for unused purchased credits.

18. Suspending or ending your use

We may suspend or close your account, or refuse a scan, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or the acceptable use policy, don't pay, or if we must for legal reasons. Where reasonable, we'll warn you first and give you the chance to fix things. If we close your account without you being at fault, we'll refund prepaid fees for the unused period and unused purchased credits.

We may stop providing AgoraScan altogether by giving you at least [60 days'] notice. We'll refund any prepaid fees for the period after it stops and any unused purchased credits.

19. Our responsibility to consumers

If you're a consumer, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it's obvious it will happen or if we both knew it might happen when we made the contract.

We don't exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breaching your legal rights described in section 11.

We only supply AgoraScan for domestic and private use. If you use it for a business, we have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity, except as set out in section 20.

If digital content we supply damages a device or digital content belonging to you because we didn't use reasonable care and skill, we'll repair the damage or pay you compensation.

20. Our responsibility to business customers

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.

Subject to that, we're not liable to business customers, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, for: loss of profits, revenue, sales, business, goodwill or anticipated savings; decisions you or your clients make based on a report; or any indirect or consequential loss.

Subject to the above, our total liability to a business customer in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in that 12-month period and (b) £[100]. This limit doesn't apply to our obligations under the Data Processing Addendum, which has its own limit stated there [if any].

You'll compensate us for reasonable losses and costs from claims by third parties caused by you scanning websites in breach of section 12, misusing reports, or your use of the website scanner in breach of section 16, except to the extent we caused them.

If you're in Australia, our liability for failure to comply with a consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law is limited, where the law allows, to supplying the service again or paying for it to be supplied again.

21. Events outside our control

We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as failures of hosting, AI or payment providers, internet outages, cyber attacks or a website blocking our scanner. We'll tell you and do what we reasonably can to limit the effect. If the problem lasts more than 30 days, you can cancel and get a refund for any prepaid period you couldn't use.

22. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms to reflect changes in the law, our service or how we run our business. We'll show the new date at the top. For changes that affect your subscription or purchased credits in a significant way, we'll email you at least [30 days] before they take effect; if you don't agree, you can cancel before then and get a refund of any prepaid fees for the unused period and of unused purchased credits. The terms in force when you place an order apply to that order.

23. Complaints and disputes

If you're unhappy, please email hello@agorascan.ai. We'll acknowledge your complaint within [2 working days] and aim to resolve it within [14 days]. If we can't agree, consumers can contact Citizens Advice for advice, and in the EU can use the European Consumer Centres Network (eccnet.eu).

24. Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

If you're a consumer: you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can also bring them in Scotland; if you live in Northern Ireland, in Northern Ireland. If you live in another country, you can also bring proceedings in your home country, and you keep any protections the law of that country gives consumers that can't be changed by contract.

If you're a business customer: the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, including non-contractual disputes.
