Accessibility and UK law, briefly

Under the Equality Act 2010, UK businesses must make reasonable adjustments so disabled people can use their services, and that includes websites. Public sector sites also have to meet WCAG 2.2 AA under the 2018 accessibility regulations. If you sell certain products or services to customers in the EU, the European Accessibility Act has applied since June 2025.

Automated tests catch a large share of common problems, but not all of them. No tool can prove a site is fully accessible, so treat this as a strong first pass. We don't sell accessibility overlays, and we'll flag one if your site uses it: they don't fix the underlying problems.

How it works

  1. Paste your page address and press the button.
  2. We load the page on desktop and mobile and run axe-core's WCAG 2.2 tests, plus our own checks.
  3. Each failure becomes a finding with the affected elements, a screenshot and the fix.

What it checks

13 checks, each explained

Every check links to what we look for, what good looks like and how to fix it. Your free scan also gives you your full UX score.

Questions

Will this make my site legally compliant?
No tool can promise that, and this isn't legal advice. It finds the problems automated testing can find and explains how to fix them. For full confidence, follow it with a manual review that includes keyboard and screen reader testing.
Which standard do you test against?
WCAG 2.2 levels A and AA, using axe-core, the open-source engine behind many professional accessibility tools. Our own checks add WCAG 2.5.8 target size and readability on phones.
What about accessibility overlays and widgets?
We don't recommend them. Overlays add a toolbar but leave the underlying code unchanged, and disabled users and accessibility experts widely reject them. Fixing the problems at source is cheaper than it sounds; most are quick wins.
