Paste your URL and we'll load your page on a phone-sized screen, the way a visitor would. You get a pass or fail on each mobile check, with a screenshot of anything that needs fixing.
Google's Mobile-Friendly Test has gone
Google retired its Mobile-Friendly Test, and the mobile usability report in Search Console, in December 2023. Lighthouse still covers some of it, but it's built for developers and doesn't show you what a visitor actually sees.
This test covers the same ground and a bit more: whether the page is set up for phones, whether it scrolls sideways, whether buttons are big enough to tap, whether the text is readable, and whether there's a clear next step on the first screen.
How it works
- Paste your page address and press the button.
- We load the page in a real browser at 390 pixels wide (a typical phone) and at desktop size.
- You get your mobile results alongside the rest of your UX score, with a screenshot of each problem.
What it checks
10 checks, each explained
Every check links to what we look for, what good looks like and how to fix it. Your free scan also gives you your full UX score.
Questions
- Is this the same as Google's old test?
- No, it's our own. It checks the things Google's test checked (viewport, text size, tap targets, content wider than the screen) and adds a check for a clear call to action on the first screen. It doesn't affect how Google ranks you.
- Does being mobile-friendly help my Google ranking?
- Google indexes the mobile version of your site, so problems on phones can hold you back. More directly, most visitors to small business sites arrive on a phone, and a page that's hard to use there loses them.
- Which phone do you test on?
- We use a 390 pixel wide screen, the size of most current iPhones and many Android phones. Tap targets are judged against WCAG 2.2's minimum of 24 by 24 pixels, with its spacing exception.
